Education

Palliative Manitoba has developed many programs and services to meet the needs of those nearing end of life as well as those needing support following the death of a loved one. Our programs and services are aimed at supporting individuals and their families in many different ways; first as a resource when they are introduced to Palliative Care, next as they move through their palliative journey to their final days and final hours. Our support for adults and children continues through the grief process; during telephone conversations, support.

Compassionate Care Course

The Compassionate Care Course is designed for anyone preparing to support individuals that are living with a life-limiting illness and those who are supporting someone grieving. Intended as training for Palliative Manitoba volunteers, registration is open to the public as space allows.

Recruitment for this course is coordinated by the WRHA Palliative Care Program.

For WRHA Home Care Resource Coordinators and Scheduling Clerks
In addition to training WRHA Community Health Care Aides, we also provide a condensed Compassionate Care Course for their Resource Coordinators and Scheduling Clerks to encourage high levels of communication between all parties with regard to end of life scenarios.
